London, 20 Feb - In an effort to tackle issues such as poverty, exclusion and unemployment, The United Nations General Assembly has decided to annually observe February 20th as the World Day of Social Justice. However, in Iran, unemployment continues to increase.

With oil and gas and other natural resources, 33% of Iran’s population (26.4 million) still lives below the poverty line. In order to support their households, many are forced to engage in menial jobs with low wages, or dangerous jobs where they risk their lives.

State-run Young Journalist Club quoted regime economist Gholamreza Kiamehr as saying, “in light of the high price of goods and services, a family who earns less than 3.5 million toumans is considered to be below the poverty line.”

After years of living under Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi’s oppressive regime, the Iranian people saw the 1979 Iranian Revolution as a moment of positivity and change for the better. However, it did not work out to be anywhere near as positive as they hoped.

Supreme Leader Khomeini purged the Iranian army of anyone he deemed incompatible with the new regime and he soon came to the decision that the force needed to be highly disciplined and one that would strengthen his position.

As a result, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Basij Mobilisation Resistance Force were born. Hugely loyal to the Supreme Leader, both forces started to oppress the people of Iran. And they still do.

London, 3 Nov - The Iranian Regime is taking centre stage in the shadowy world of covert proxy wars for dominance in the Middle East.

As part of Iran’s destabilisation campaign, which is meant to undermine US interests across the region and boost Iran’s power, the Regime has been fighting in support of Syrian dictator Bashar Assad, Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah, and Shiite militias in Iraq.

London, 15 Dec - All of the people accused of “looting” a credit and financial institution in Iran have been freed on bail, according to an official at Tehran’s Penal Court.

The looted institution, Samen al-Hojaj, went bankrupt and was taken over by the private Parsian Bank.

There are almost 50 complainants in Tehran who have registered that they have not been able to get their money back from Samen al-Hojaj, which was launched in 2001.

London, 31 Oct - A member of the Iranian Regime’s parliament has addressed that there is a major crisis facing porters (kolbars) in Iran that is resulting in the deaths of many.

Rassoul Khezri told a state-run news agency on October 28 that there are some 75,000 people in Iran who are working as porters- many of whom are students- and risking their lives for a pittance.

A porter will carry goods across the Iranian border through mountainous areas on their back (as in many instances, no vehicle could make the journey) in order to make a living. It is believed to be very widespread amongst students in border towns, as assessed by Ali Mohammad Zadeh, a teacher.
